Today my mailbox was OVERFLOWING with goodies. First up, a package of two vinyls to play on the record player I very much jumped on the bandwagon by acquiring (I'm super pleased I did, by the way). More noteworthy of the two is My Morning Jacket's The Waterfall because it was just released this week. From what I can tell so far, the album is masterful and moving and amazing and I love it. (I've been listening to it at work this week—all hail Spotify.) The accompanying art is equally beautiful, which further convinces me that Jim James and I would totally get along.

I threw in an order of Florence & The Machine's Lungs because it will always make me want to run fast for my mother, fast for my father—as well as my children, sisters and brothers. And Florence is golden.

Next up: I ordered what is my second issue of Uppercase magazine, a gorgeous collection of articles on and interviews with artists and craftsmen. Issue 23 is all about calligraphy and handlettering, so I'll be looking to its pages for inspiration for my new craft/chicken scratch.

Let's hear it for the US Postal System!
