This is a new column! Every month I'll share things I've been reading, watching, and listening to.
1. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
Finished 30 Rock last month and immediately felt a Tina Fey-shaped hole open up in my heart. I was unsure about it at first, but UKS definitely grew on me.
2. "Dreams" by Beck
This is absolutely my song of the summer.
3. The Magic Whip by Blur
IT'S THE RETURN OF BLUR, Y'ALL! For whatever reason I didn't give this a real listen until this month. Faves are "There Are Too Many of Us," "I Broadcast," and "Ong Ong."
4. Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
Look, I hadn't read a real, live book in ages—sad, I know—so I figured I better catch up on The One Everyone Was Talking About. Definitely lived up to the hype. Next step: Watch the movie.
5. Best of Cream
Picked up this two-disc compilation at Louisiana Music Factory in New Orleans a few weeks ago. It was pressed in France!
6. The Singles by The Clash
Couldn't leave LMF without a CD as well, so grabbed The Singles from The Clash (what can I say, I'm a sucker for the greatest hits). This will find a permanent home in my car CD player I believe.
Bonus: This is a summer playlist I made for our family trip to the beach, and I just about wore it out. Good if you have a road trip coming up sometime soon.
