Calligraphy class with Paperglaze Calligraphy at The Social Type
I've been waiting for Shannon of Paperglaze Calligraphy to come back to Little Rock for a while now, and I am so excited that The Social Type is hosting another round of her calligraphy classes at their shop in the Heights.

Arkansas Literary Festival at various Little Rock locations
Every spring, the Central Arkansas Library System's Arkansas Lit Fest brings some of the country's most interesting authors, artists, journalists, politicians, and personalities to central Arkansas for a weekend of lectures and workshops. Here are the events that tickled my fancy most (though chances are slim I'll be able to catch everything listed below):

Bronze & Brewskis in the River Market Pavilions
This is the young professionals arm of the Sculpture in the River Market fundraiser. Admission ($30 in advance, $35 at the door) includes food from Copper Grill and Loblolly Creamery, beer and wine from Glazer's and Stella Artois, and music by Jon Willis and the Late Romantics. Fifth annual Indie Arts & Music Festival (aka Etsy Fest) in Hillcrest
It's been fun watching this once-small craft fair grow from a funky little get-together on the front and back porches of Town Pump to a sprawling, all-day affair on Woodlawn and now, finally, at home up and down Kavanaugh. Expect blocks of vendor booths selling all sorts of Etsy wares plus food trucks, local music, and booze from Rock Town Distillery, Moody Brews, and Budweiser (sponsored by Legends of Arkansas).
